Week 10 highlight: Sleepover on a houseboat.

We enjoy the beautiful drive along the powerline road every day, to take Tim to work. This week our neighbour spotted 2 lionesses along that same road! Its also easy to wake up at 5am to go for a run when it's 30 degrees and your sunrises look like this.... On Monday morning Pod and Jords arrived for their houseboat trip and invited me and Lil to come for a quick spin as they left. It was such a cool experience, and always fun to spend time with these special people. She also spoilt us by bringing us some of her farm reared lamb mmmm!  The boys were hard at work/school and didn't get to join us on our little girls trip...but Jords invited us to come out for a few hours on Friday evening too, which was awesome. When we got to the houseboat she said that if we are happy to crash on mattresses then we are welcome to sleep over, so that was a no brainer! I'm not sure who was more excited: LJ or Tim! Gaining momentum....First day of school, first time on the lake, first run outside the electric fence.

Its been a good week of firsts for us. LJ started school at a lovely little school here that has fewer than 100 kids, between the ages of 3 and 16. He enjoys the interaction with other kids who match his energy and enthusiasm. There is just something so cute about a kid in a uniform. Having LJ at school has given Lily and me some lovely time to enjoy the small things at a slower pace. She loves finding bugs and chongololos. All the trees are just so beautiful here and the contrast of colours is just stunning. Makes me think of the lyrics: "Everytime I hear a newborn baby cry Or touch a leaf or see the sky Then I know why I believe" Its mango season and there is no shortage of mango trees around!  Fun in the rain, pure joy. It took no prompting for this one to strip down and enjoy the beautiful storm outside.  I finally managed to meet the fellow runners of Kariba, and braved the wild outdoors for the first time.
